Tiesto may have placed 2nd to Armin this year, but believe me, this Dutchman has accomplished more in the name of Dance Music than any artist has ever been able to achieve. Tiesto, alias Tijs Verwest, was the world's reigning DJ from 2002 to 2004. In the last year, Tiesto has played for close to 2 million people, including an event in Rio De Janeiro that consisted of 200,000 fans. Another highlight of Tiesto's career occurred in Greece during the summer of 2004, where Tiesto became the first DJ to perform at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens. Not to mention Tiesto's weekly radio shows, countless music awards, his performance at Sensation White, bestseller albums, and DVDs that cover two of the most epic Dance concerts known to man.
